The Veil
This morning
When I awoke
Surrounded
By thick gray veil
I didn’t see you
I couldn’t see
Your body swaying with the breeze
Your leaves dancing in the sunlight
Your limbs reaching toward me
I panicked
You are not there!
My heart ached with sadness
Where are you?
Will I see you again?
The mist finally lifted
You appeared
You were there!
My limbs reached skyward
My body bent towards yours
My heart sang with joy
You were there!
My lover
My best friend
Together we share this meadow
Nothing would be the same
My best friend
Together we share this meadow
Nothing would be the same
Without you
